Job Description:
The Department of Biology at Syracuse University invites applications for a tenure-track position in the dynamic and broad field of neuroscience. The candidate is expected to complement and build on existing strengths in the Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program, including cell and molecular neurobiology, the biology of aging and neurodegeneration, behavioral and systems neuroscience, neurological disease modeling, and developmental neurobiology. The successful candidate is expected to develop a vigorous externally funded research program and participate in graduate and undergraduate teaching and mentoring in the areas of their expertise.
The research environment at Syracuse University is highly collaborative both within and between departments, research centers, and institutes. The candidate will establish their research lab in the Biology Department, housed in the world-class Life Sciences Complex. In addition to the broad research expertise in the Biology Department at Syracuse University, faculty benefit from interactions with the Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program, the Aging Studies Institute, and the BioInspired Institute. In addition, the Department of Biology has strong research and educational ties to the adjacent State University of New York Upstate Medical University.

Located between the Adirondack Mountains, Finger Lakes, and Lake Ontario regions of upstate New York, the metropolitan area of Syracuse boasts myriad cultural and recreational opportunities and offers a wide array of urban, small town, and rural living. Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biology, or a related field with an outstanding record of research in Neuroscience.
