The Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Health and Human Sciences invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Lecturer to begin January 2025.

Major/Essential Functions
At Texas Tech University, the Lecturer title designates a full-time, non-tenure-acquiring role with primary duties in teaching organized classes and/or instructional labs. In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate level.
  • Teach face to face and online undergraduate and graduate courses that support the Nutritional Sciences degrees and update course materials to ensure they correspond with current literature/practice.
  • Mentor and assist in the recruitment of students and interns.
  • Ensure that all ACEND accreditation standards, policies, and procedures are met.
  • Implement ongoing assessment procedures for the program including student learning outcomes and retention data.
  • Communicate and work closely with the DPD Director and program faculty, assisting with all areas of the DPD Program.
  • Communicate with faculty concerning program compliance with the ACEND Accreditation Standards.
  • Participate in curricular development and ongoing accreditation program review and maintenance.
  • Help to ensure the success of the DPD Program by performing all other duties as assigned.
  • Engage in outreach activities and perform service to the department, college, university, and the profession including involvement and leadership in professional associations.


Required Qualifications
  • An earned MS in dietetics, nutrition, public health or related discipline.
  • Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist by Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Licensure as a dietitian in the state of Texas.
  • Active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics on or before the first day of employment.
  • Minimum of three years professional experience post credentialing.


Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
  1. Clinical dietetic experience post credentialing
  2. Experience working in an ACEND accredited dietetics program
  3. Demonstrated experience teaching and developing curriculum for undergraduate and graduate students in a face-to-face setting
  4. Demonstrated ability to utilize technology and online course delivery methods
  5. Demonstrated ability of effective teaching in various settings
  6. Prior experience developing and managing programs and events
  7. Experience working with multidisciplinary/interprofessional teams
  8. Prior experience as a preceptor for dietetic interns
  9. Managerial and/or leadership experience
  10. Experience working in a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to multi-task projects and assignments
  11. Strong written and verbal communication skills as evidenced by responses to situational supplemental questions during application
