Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $100,000.00
Maximum $113,300.00

Job Summary
We invite you to join the innovative and diverse faculty at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine (WesternU-CVM). We are seeking a colleague to contribute to the colleges mission to educate veterinary professionals and advance knowledge to address the contemporary needs of society. This team member will:
  • Provide content expertise in one or more Clinical Specialties, contributing to scholarly advancement of the clinical science, and incorporating a specific discipline in the veterinary curriculum.
    • The CVM utilizes a Distributive model for clinical education. Please indicate in the cover letter any expertise you have in the delivery of distributed clinical education, and in any of the following clinical disciplines that are recognized by the AVMAs American Board of Veterinary Specialties (ABVS):

    • Assume various teaching roles, when required, to meet curricular demands and as assigned by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Individuals must possess this knowledge, these skills, and abilities, or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
  1. Ability to orally communicate with others. Ability to effectively interact with administration, faculty, staff, students, and outside contacts.
  2. Ability to handle detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality.
  3. Organizational skills necessary in prioritizing workload and delegating responsibility.
  4. Knowledge of educational needs for contemporary veterinary practice.
  5. Knowledge and skills in his/her discipline.



Required Qualifications
EDUCATION: An advanced degree (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (ie, DVM, VMD), PhD, or equivalent degree) in the discipline of expertise is required.
LICENSURE (if applicable): Actively licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Veterinarian in the state of California preferred. Current Veterinary specialty board certification preferred.
