Adjunct Professor: Math and Health Sciences (Spring 2025)

Course Description: MATH-1050 Math for the Health Sciences (3 Credits)

Review of the mathematics required to accurately calculate medication dosages, including linear, exponential, and logarithmic functions. Systems of measurement, conversions, and common abbreviations related to units of measurements. Calculation of oral and parenteral dosages (including those based on weight), reconstitution of solutions, titration of IV medications, and insulin dosages. This course serves students within the University's health sciences programs, as well as those students interested in gaining mathematical knowledge useful within the healthcare field.

Qualifications:

Education: M.A./ M.S./ Ph.D., post-docs, or experienced academicians with a background in a related discipline (e.g.- mathematics, computer science etc.)

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Salary: Base rate: $3,375.00 per 3 credit course.

Terminal Degree: Adjunct Faculty members who hold a terminal degree shall be paid an additional $300.00.

Hours Expectation:

Spring Semester 2025 (Jan 21st 2025 – May 9th, 2025h)
